ACTERRA – ACtive TERritory Resilience Awareness

TS3 - Communities’ resilience to risks: social, economic, legal and cultural dimensions

Description and objectives

The ACTERRA project (ACtive TERritory Resilience Awareness) fits within the objectives of the Return initiative (particularly objectives 1 and 2) and focuses on the goals of Spoke 7 TS3 related to the design and adoption of community-based policies, raising awareness of sustainable choices and their positive effects, and promoting active participation in risk mitigation activities.

Furthermore, the project explores the theme of social cohesion (inclusiveness, participation, and trust in institutions) as a key element for strengthening urban resilience.

The selected topic is RT3 (Innovative tools and solutions for multi-risk communication and education), and the specific objective identified is to increase social resilience to disasters through the education and training of young citizens in active citizenship, as well as their engagement in reporting resources and vulnerabilities within their territory.

The planned activities are linked to the following work packages (WP):

  • Development of a mobile applied game on the management of natural disaster risks related to climate change.
  • Development of an AR app, with an Admin management panel, for recording information on risks, resources, and local actors involved in emergency prevention and management.
  • Implementation of a dissemination campaign targeting local administrations and the creation of a toolkit for school-based laboratory activities.
