Description and Objectives

The proposed project, named “PIGRECO” (Platform for Risk Management and Communication), is part of the RETURN program, with the goal of providing a tool to support the assessment of mitigation alternatives in a multi-risk context, as well as to manage related activities and communication processes.

The main objective is to develop a comprehensive and scalable tool that integrates both geographic and non-geographic data, supporting policymakers in the application of decision-making models and in the interpretation, visualization, and communication of results. The platform will enable the management and analysis of geographic and non-geographic data through a GIS-based component, allowing for the creation of both quantitative and qualitative maps. This will allow users to visualize, query, analyze, and interpret results in an effective and synthetic way.

The main challenge lies in integrating, within the platform under development, the indicators and decision models provided by the RETURN project (https://www.fondazionereturn.it/), which are essential for offering a comprehensive assessment of a community’s capacity to recover from and adapt to a calamitous event.
