TS3 - Communities’ resilience to risks: social, economic, legal and cultural dimensions
Description and Objectives
The ICRAS project aims to make a decisive contribution to expanding and systematizing existing research on mutual trust, trust in institutions, and individual behavior toward cooperation without directly intervening on the incentive structure. The project compares different types of nudging and boosting across a variety of contexts, in order to assess how their effectiveness in terms of collective resilience is influenced by the specific issue addressed (e.g., environmental vs. health risks), the type of behavior being promoted (e.g., cooperation vs. self-protection), the context of application (e.g., small groups vs. larger communities), and the level of trust among peers and toward institutions.
To this end, in addition to conducting systematic literature reviews—also aimed at identifying current research gaps—new studies will be carried out, integrating distinct yet complementary approaches, such as laboratory experiments and multi-agent simulations.
