Description and objectives

The OPINION project (Open-GIS Platform for rIsk aNalysIs and cOmmunicatioN) aims to design and implement a modular and interoperable GIS-based platform targeted at different user groups and intended to:

acquire, manage, and analyze territorial data and other relevant indicators;

apply algorithms and matrices to support the evaluation of risk mitigation alternatives;

interpret and visualize the results obtained;

disseminate and communicate the effectiveness of the solutions designed and implemented within Spoke 7.

Specifically, the platform will respond, through different communication channels and informational tools, to the specific needs of users, both internal and external to Spoke 7, within a multi-risk perspective.

The end-user-oriented approach will allow for the functional differentiation of the audience in order to best achieve the objectives of Spoke 7, as well as ensure the usability, replicability, and reusability of research data and results (in compliance with FAIR principles and Open Data standards).

Moreover, the platform will enable the publication of Periodic Reports on the status of risk management and mitigation activities designed and implemented within the Spoke, according to communication strategies provided by the OPINION project team and shared with the client.
