SARA-SAR – Automatic Web-GIS System for Reporting and Analysis of SAR-Based Infrastructures (Multi-Temporal SAR Interferometry).

TS2 - Multi-Risk Resilience of Critical Infrastructures

Description and objectives

The objective of the project is to develop an innovative Web-GIS interface dedicated to the monitoring of the stability of transport infrastructures (bridges, roads, and railways) using data derived from advanced multi-temporal satellite radar interferometry (MT-InSAR) techniques, as well as to analyze changes occurring in the surroundings of the infrastructures.

The Web-GIS interface will allow users to visualize and analyze slow deformations caused by landslides or ground settlements, together with change detection data, providing a continuous and long-term monitoring of transport infrastructures.

The interface will be interactive and user-friendly, enabling users to explore displacement maps, consult geo-analytical indicators estimated by the monitoring service for each infrastructure segment, and access advanced analysis tools. A key feature to be developed within this project is the automatic generation of site reports — detailed documents that summarize the level of attention required for each infrastructure segment, thus facilitating maintenance planning.

The integration of displacement information derived from MT-InSAR methodology with land cover change information in the surroundings of infrastructures, within the Web-GIS environment, will ensure efficient and timely monitoring of critical infrastructures. This integration will enhance decision-making processes and enable infrastructure operators to prioritize maintenance actions based on scientific and objective data.
