On April 10 in Naples, at the Department of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II, in the Rabitti Room at Via Forno Vecchio 36, the international conference and workshop “Proof of Concept Approaches: Methods, Models and Strategies for Urban Risk Mitigation” will take place, focusing on innovative methods and strategies for mitigating risks in urban contexts.
The event brings together scholars and experts in the field to discuss advanced approaches to urban environments exposed to multi-risk scenarios. Institutional greetings will be delivered by Maria Rosaria Santangelo and Andrea Prota, with the introduction by Maria Fabrizia Clemente.
The keynote lecture by Carmine Galasso will open the session, focusing on dynamic natural hazard risk modeling for the mitigation of urban disasters through a human-centred approach.
The program continues with two thematic sessions: the first, coordinated by Maria Polese, will focus on virtual test-beds and knowledge models in complex scenarios; the second, chaired by Valeria D’Ambrosio, will address Proof of Concept applications for risk mitigation in urban settlements.
The day will conclude with final remarks by Mario Losasso and Domenico Calcaterra.
The initiative, organized with the support of the University of Naples Federico II’s 2025 funding for scientific dissemination, represents an important opportunity for international dialogue on urban resilience and integrated risk management.
