RETURN Event – (Italian) Dal sapere all’azione: conoscenze, credenze e cooperazione per la riduzione del rischio e l’adattamento al cambiamento climatico

Next 3rd of September 2025, at Eurac Research in Bolzano,

the side event of the PNRR RETURN project will be held, entitled “From knowledge to action: knowledge, beliefs, and cooperation for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation”. The initiative aims to deepen the contribution of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

Through a day of work, it will be possible to reflect on the process of producing scientific knowledge and on the ways in which the disciplines of natural and social sciences can collaborate effectively to address complex challenges at the intersection of natural and human systems.

The program includes two thematic sessions with interventions by professors and researchers from various Italian academic institutions.

Among the topics addressed: the integration of scientific languages, the co-design of policies for fragile territories, the analysis of collective decision-making processes and the forms of cooperation between public administrations and citizens for the construction of resilient communities.

The day will end with a convivial moment and a theatrical performance inspired by the role of scientific research in the response to climate change. Participation in the event is free, but registration is required by July 18, 2025.
