The Oceanography Unveiled seminars are back
May 29 - May 30
The fourth appointment of the seminars “Oceanography Unveiled” will take place on May 29th and 30th, focusing on changes in the ocean and climate in the Neogene:

- Module 1 – Mat 29th, 2:30 pm: Quantifying the equilibrium climate sensitivity (ECS) in the geologic past
- Module 2 – May 30th, 11:00 am: A personal paleoclimate perspective on future sea level changes, climate sensitivity, and carbon sequestration

The Oceanography Unveiled workshops were initially launched in 2024 by the OGS and the CNR-ISMAR. The University of Naples Parthenope, the University of Rome La Sapienza, the University of Salento, the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari , and the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (SZN), also joined the project, involving a large part of the Italian oceanographic community.
The seminar cycle is also part of the dissemination, education and technology transfer initiatives of the PNRR RETURN – Multi-Risk sciEnce for resilienT communities underR a changiNg climate, with particular reference to Spoke 1, 4, 8 (pollution, climate, environmental degradation); they also represent a contribution to the Ocean Decade and are sponsored by the quantitative sustainability laboratory TQLS.
