The PNRR RETURN project will hold a side event on September 3, 2025, entitled “From knowledge to action: knowledge, beliefs, and cooperation for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation” at Eurac Research in Bolzano, Italy.
This initiative aims to explore the role of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. The day-long session will provide an opportunity to reflect on the process of scientific knowledge production and how the natural and social sciences can collaborate to effectively address complex challenges at the intersection of natural and human systems.
The program will include two thematic sessions with talks by faculty and researchers from various Italian academic institutions. Topics will include the integration of scientific languages, the co-design of policies for fragile territories, the analysis of collective decision-making processes, and forms of cooperation between public administrations and citizens to build resilient communities. The day will conclude with a social gathering and a theatrical performance inspired by the role of scientific research in responding to climate change.
The full program and registration form are available on the official event website. The event will be held in English.
Participation in the event is free, but registration is required by July 18, 2025.
